Why Join SAMPP?

So that we may all have a voice and platform to work together on how we can flourish in our craft and in our careers within our own industry. With your expertise and membership, we are able to organise primer workshops, masterclasses and engage in industry advocacy dialogue forums.

Who Should Join SAMPP?

SAMPP’s membership is open for application to Singapore-based motion picture professionals across these sectors:

  • Film,
  • Television,
  • Digital Content

who are practitioners holding above or below-the-line credits, and can be:

  • Freelancers,
  • Employees,
  • Employers, or
  • Business Owners

Membership is open to all motion picture professionals, who hold above- and below-the-line screen credits that shall be stipulated in the Association’s membership application forms and as determined by the Committee, and is assessed using the following criteria:

  1. professional integrity;
  2. minimum of 1 year’s experience with majority of income derived from motion picture production; and
  3. quality of work.

Unless the applicant meets and/or exceeds these criteria and standards, he/she will not be admitted as a member.

Types of Membership

Ordinary Membership

  • Full-time motion picture professionals who are Singapore citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents, and above the age of 18 years of age, can apply for Active Ordinary Member status, upon the invitation of the Executive Committee.
  • Active Members (Ordinary members) who are above the age of 21 years, shall have the right to vote at General Meetings and Extraordinary General Meetings. They can also nominate or second a candidate to stand for election to the Executive Committee, or themselves stand for election for the Executive Committee if they have been active members and volunteers for at least 2 years as determined by the Executive Committee.

Associate Membership

free
  • Associate Membership is free (no annual membership fee) for motion picture professional applicants who are Singapore citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents or Singapore-based residents.
  • Associate Members shall be accorded some access to being included in a SAMPP professionals database, to receive newsletters and other communications. and to be given free access to some activities, similar to an Active Ordinary Member, with exception of voting and exco-office-holder rights.

Student Membership

  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents who are undergoing studies in the field of professional motion picture production.
  • They shall have the same rights and benefits of an Associate Member. Proof of student ID required. SAMPP student membership is free for 2022.
